Okay, so I've had several people comment on our "love" and how much Joey obviously loves me (which is true I can't deny it!). Well each time I read that I also read it to Joey.
Today I got an email from a friend who was going on and on about how much we love each other (always fun to read!) so I'm reading it to Joey and he says:
"How do they know I don't hate you?" lol... he's such a dork, always wanting to look like the bad guy when truly he's the NICEST!
So I decided to share some Joey stories.
-when we were in HS every girl I know had a crush on him, but he was truly the nicest guy so no one dated him (you know, liking the bad guy complex) When we started dating everyone admitted they had wanted to date/marry him at some point! lol
-when we first starting liking each other I had a boyfriend. He was a good guy but not for me and as we were pretty much ending it became obvious Joey and I liked each other. Joey never had a GF so it was all new territory for him. One night I came out and said "joey do you like me?" And he hmmed and haaaed and finally said with the cutest eyes "I'm sorry!" because he knew I had a boyfriend! lol he felt so bad for liking me!
-about 10 months after we'd been dating, the guy I had been dating before Joey (who I stayed friends with, after he got over me choosing another guy) came right out and asked "Do you think you'll marry Joey?" I said "we'll see" and HE said "well you better! He's perfect for you!" This coming from the guy I dumped for Joey!!! Even he knew....
-After we'd been dating a month I went to a camp for a whole month. I got a letter EVERY SINGLE day from him, and many times packages including necessities for camp. All the girls were jealous ;-)
-The first semester I went back to college after we started dating (starting dating in the summer) he sent me flowers probably 4 times!
-I am a hard person to surprise so he spent FIVE MONTHS planning our engagement and working out all the details with my family and roommates. All so it would be perfect and I'd be surprised!
-When Joey watches America's Funniest Home Videos it is a site for everyone around. TRULY! He laughs so hard and so loud and so long that you'd think the funniest thing had ever happened known to mankind. But nope it's just AFV. I could listen to him laugh like that all day long.. it's so funny. Even my friends love it!
-This morning when I stirred for a split second he came out of his sleep and said to me "what do you need?! tell me, your wish is my command!" and he meant it!
-When we're eating, if there's an ugly piece of pizza, or pie or anything slightly burnt, he makes sure I get the pretty one. He'd NEVER let me have the gross one!
-When I talk with my middle school youth ministry girls about boys, I tell them that until they meet someone as wonderful as Joey, or someone who will adore them as much as he adores me, they shouldn't settle. Anything less will just break their heart.
-My dad is wonderful, he is very much like Joey in so many ways. One day my mom was explaining to me what it was like when she married him (before Joey and I were dating) and she even said "I married MY Joey W!" I guess he's the standard!
-We had 2 leftover pancakes from last week in the freezer and I asked if he'd be willing to toast them for me and he didn't understand why I would want leftovers when he could make me as many brand new pancakes as I wanted!
-My birthday is this coming Friday and Joey decided to surprise me early since I had to be on bed rest with a 19 inch flat screen TV for our bedroom (that we've been wanting!) so I could have it during bed rest. Then when I told him it was too much ($$) I said I'd put my birthday money towards it. He said absolutely not (even though I still will) and that he was putting his leftover Christmas money towards it! (which I said absolutely not to!!)
So that's my Joey. He is more wonderful than I ever knew when I met him and every day he continues to amaze me. I know our kids will have HIGH standards when they start dating because of their dad and I just wanted to share a bit of how wonderful he really is :-)
I really praise God every day for him. He is my true gift.
Now if you've made it to the bottom of this post share YOUR wonderful significant other story :-)

Oh Rachel - that truly made me tear up. Pat is my Joey too, or should I say Joey is your Pat - lol.
It is ironic that both Pat and Joey both never had girlfriends before us - I guess they just knew to not waste their time on anyone else! We are worth it!
I am the same with with burnt stuff - gross :-) But Pat will eat it - we used to call him The Pit.
He spoils me so much and cares for me like no one does.
It is the most wonderful feeling to be married to your best friend - we are so lucky :-)
Oh my gosh, how sweet!! I'm thinking it would be super fun to get all of our husbands in the same room and videotape what happens. :) I'm wondering if they'll start trading tips on how to be the cutest hubbies ever.
Joey is such a doll, and I think you two are a great match (from what I know, albeit not much).
I think I'll take your suggestion and write my own post of the sweet things Matt does for me. :)
I hope you're having a good weekend!
Blessings,
Erin
I'm sure I could come up with a better one, but Tony is so incredibly thoughtful . . . when he tries. This morning he went to go get coffee filters, and returned with the Star Tribune for me, because he made the decision to have the Pioneer Press delivered to our house (which is his paper, not mine!).
this one time, my husband...oh wait...
:) You are one lucky lady Rach! What a fun blog entry to read...

:) You are one lucky lady Rach! Even though Joey DID eat all the Ham (haha), he is fantastic and sets a standard for both your Wyld Life girls and me. (The verdict is still up who gets married first: ME or the MIDDLE SCHOOLERS)
This one time, my husband...oh wait...
You are a lucky lady Rach! Joey is amazing (even though he DID eat all the ham - haha) He sets a high standard for both me and the middle school wyld lifers.
(hopefully I'm on a little faster track than they are...) :)
I love this post! I think it's great to show the world how much you appreciate & love your hubby. Just a lil way to pay him back for his awesomeness! =) I love the AFV story, I would love to see that! You guys seem like such a fun couple.
moni
p.s. I have also found my "Joey", lol, his name is Matt! =)
Aw, what a sweet post! Funny...my Dave never had a GF before me either. Must be the trend with the "good guys".
I waited a very long time to marry (even though I was ready at 22!). I waited until I met the perfect man for me. I was 36 when I married. Some called me an old maid.
I married a poet. He has so many wonderful qualities - many of the things you said about Joey, Eric also does for me.
Eric and I also went through IVF to have a family. We also have a male-factor issue. I was ready to adopt but did IVF for my Dear Husband.
Here is one of Eric's poems that he recently wrote for me.
It's Called:
"The Wonder of You"
"These years have swam by me
leaving behind drops of what can only be
the truest Happiness.
And that Happiness soaks into me
Each day I wake by your side.
By sharing your heart,
You have convinced me that
Together, we are
Without limits and
That Miracles happen
(I hold him every day).
Seeing our child, I know
Your gifts and sacrifice
have Immortalized me.
I thought only God could do
That.
When he brought you
To me,
I guess he did."
I love your story. My "Joey" is named Jasen and he spoils me so rotten even when I am pmsing and mean he will still say something like I know you don't like me right now but I still want to hold you.
Your Joey is my Owen :) I knew from the moment I laid eyes on him that there was SOMETHING about him I needed to know more about - thankfully it wasn't an axe murderer side *wink*.
Fun love story? Our first date started at the Minneapolis Airport. He flew from Seattle to see me for my Bday and whisked me off, as a surprised, to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a week.
I was so young and soooooooooooo dumb - thankfully it worked out! HA! (re-read: "he was not an axe murderer!").
Never did I know that such a love existed, never did I know I was worthy of such a relationship, never did I know that such a relationship could even exist! Our lives have not been fairytales by far but our love is iron clad and so far beyond connected - there are no words :)
Here's to you, Here's to Joey, Here's to true, life long, ever-lasting, REALLY CRAZY MAD IN LOVE love ;)
BIG HUGS to you two today and always!
Kelley
Great post! I kind of feel like a stalker coming on here and reading about you even though I don't know you but you are an inspiration. Your relationship with the Lord is true and strong and I find it very refreshing. Anyway - here is my "Joey" story. My Joey is named Kevin. Kevin and I met when I was a freshman and he was a junior in highschool. He had never dated before me either! Even though he was a football and wrestling stud, and down right adorable, he was available. He first introduced himself to me the first week of school then we would wave to each other now and then but that was it. In February he set me up to go to a dance with one of his friends even though he liked me. That is the kind of person he is. He would rather see someone else happy than make himself happy. Anyway, his friend wasn't very nice and when he "dumped" me Kevin was right there. The day he asked me to "go out with him" (hillarious 90's term!), he told me he loved me. I said "Love me? You don't even know me." His reply..."give me time and I will prove it". Well 17 years later he is still proving it.
Thanks for an opportunity to share how much our husbands love us!
Gina
